Arturo Fuente Cigars: A Century of Excellence and Innovation
Founded in 1912 by Cuban émigré Arturo Fuente Sr. in West Tampa, Florida, Arturo Fuente Cigars has grown from a modest family operation into one of the world's most respected premium cigar brands. After a devastating fire in 1924 halted production for over two decades, the company resumed in 1946 under Arturo's son, Carlos Fuente Sr. Facing challenges such as the Cuban embargo and a factory fire during the Nicaraguan Revolution, the Fuente family relocated to the Dominican Republic in 1980, where they established Tabacalera A. Fuente in Santiago.
Arturo Fuente's commitment to quality is evident in their meticulous cultivation of tobacco at the renowned Chateau de la Fuente estate. This dedication led to the creation of the Fuente Fuente OpusX in 1995, the first Dominican puro featuring a wrapper grown entirely in the Dominican Republic. The OpusX line, including variations like Angel’s Share and Forbidden X, is celebrated for its rich, complex flavors and has become a benchmark in the cigar industry.
The brand's diverse portfolio includes the Hemingway series, known for its perfecto shapes and balanced profiles; the Don Carlos line, offering a rich, full-bodied experience; and the Añejo series, featuring a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper aged in cognac barrels for a unique flavor. Each cigar reflects the Fuente family's unwavering dedication to craftsmanship and innovation.
Today, Arturo Fuente remains a family-owned enterprise, with the fourth generation continuing the legacy. Their cigars are distributed globally, earning accolades for consistency, flavor, and construction. Whether you're a seasoned aficionado or new to the world of cigars, Arturo Fuente offers a range of products that embody a century-long tradition of excellence.
