Just in time for the season, LCA Release No. 153: Mexican Chocolate brings something seriously unique out of Tabacalera Annex.
This 6 x 54 box-pressed release starts with an extremely dark Mexican San Andrés wrapper, but the real story is underneath. The binder comes from a single hectare of tobacco grown by AJ Fernandez—a crop so limited there simply wasn’t enough of it for a national release. Instead, it found its way to the Annex, where rare and experimental tobaccos like this can finally get their moment.
After four years of aging, Mexican Chocolate delivers a full-bodied profile loaded with cocoa, sweet molasses, red pepper, cedar, espresso and baking spice. Rich chocolate sweetness meets espresso-like bitterness and a touch of pepper for a cigar that feels tailor-made for fall.
