Viaje’s 15th Anniversary cigar is getting a do-over. While Viaje Cigar Co. celebrated its 15th anniversary last year with some celebratory smokes, brand owner Andre Farkas decided that he wanted to do something more lavish. For the company’s second celebration of this milestone, Farkas is releasing a trio of blends in a trio of ceramic jars.
“I felt a 15th needed more of a celebration so we are releasing part two of the anniversary celebration this year,” Farkas tells Cigar Aficionado.
The three versions—Silver, Gold and Black—all feature a Criollo ’98 wrapper from Nicaragua’s Jalapa region, and are all composed of only Nicaraguan tobacco grown by Aganorsa Leaf, which produces the cigars for Viaje as well. Farkas says that the three blends are distinctly different, but they’re on the fuller side of the strength scale. Each cigar is identical in size, a perfecto measuring 6 inches long by 54 ring gauge.
Every jar is full of 24 cigars, and each cigar has a suggested retail price of $19.99. Only 315 jars of each blend are being produced, or 945 jars in total. They are scheduled to ship on September 18. - Cigar Aficionado
