It's Mule Kick time! Here we have the 5th Mule Kick release!
On November 20, 2012, Crowned Heads released what would become the first in a long line of Limited Edition releases, i.e., the Four Kicks Mule Kick LE 2012.
Mule Kick LE 2012 featured a higher priming Habano wrapper and a slightly altered blend to the OR Four Kicks brand. Despite a very limited production of 5,000 total cigars, Mule Kick quickly garnered the attention of the premium cigar industry, and over the years, achieved a nearly mythical ‘unicorn status’ among cigar enthusiasts. The OR Mule Kick blend would be re-released in 2017, 2018 (Connecticut Habano wrapper), and in 2019 (Ecuador Sumatra wrapper). This year, Crowned Heads is excited to announce the Four Kicks Mule Kick LE2020. The Mule Kick LE 2020 remains true to the previous three editions in utilizing the same all-Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos. This year’s Mule Kick expression, however, is finished with a nearly flawless Nicaraguan(Jalapa) wrapper that takes the flavor profile to an entirely new dimension in complexity and richness. Total production of Four Kicks Mule Kick LE2020 is limited to 25,000 total cigars and is manufactured at Tabacalera La Alianza, S.A., (Santiago, Dominican Republic).
The wrapper we’ve selected to use on the Mule Kick 2020 is very special. I first experienced this leaf on a cigar in 2016 that Ernesto (Perez-Carrillo) gave me to try at that year’s IPCPR trade show and I was immediately impressed; that cigar would eventually be released later as the EPC Encore line. We went on to use this wrapper on a 2017 limited edition and I’m very excited to once again feature it on this year’s Mule Kick LE.Jon Huber, Crowned Heads co-founder
