After making its debut at the 2023 PCA Convention & Trade Show, the long-anticipated My Father Cigars and Tatuaje La Union Red Humidor is finally ready for release.
This marks the second half of a two-part collaboration between the García family of My Father Cigars and Pete Johnson of Tatuaje. In a unique role reversal, Johnson blended two cigars for My Father, while the Garcías created two blends for Tatuaje. The first installment, the La Union Black Humidor, shipped in February 2024—now it’s time for the Red.
Although both humidors share a similar presentation, the cigars themselves differ. The Tatuaje blend for the Red Humidor features a covered foot with an Ecuadorian Sumatra-seed wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and fillers, while the My Father version uses a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper of undisclosed origin atop a Nicaraguan core. Both are rolled in a 7 ¼ x 50 Prominente Especial vitola with a 109-style head, distinguished by secondary bands that read For My Father and Para Tatuaje.
Production is limited to 1,500 humidors, with 300 reserved for international markets. Each humidor contains 20 cigars from each blend, accompanied by a XIKAR Perfect Xi1 cutter. Crafted by just two pairs of rollers and bunchers—restricted to 250 cigars per day—this limited release is as much about artistry as exclusivity.
